Every Christmas, the same question returns: how do you find a gift that genuinely surprises someone? Not just something they will like, but something that makes them stop, look up and ask, "How did you think of this?"
The secret is simple. The most surprising gifts are the ones that could only have been made for that person.
A portrait of the pet they love
Few gifts create a reaction quite like opening a portrait of your own dog or cat. It is unexpected, deeply personal and impossible to find in a shop.
At Haven and Whiskers, each portrait is created from a single photo. You choose the style and background, approve a digital preview, and the finished piece arrives framed and ready to wrap.
- Completely one of a kind
- Instantly recognisable the moment it is unwrapped
- Elegant enough for any home
- A gift that stays on the wall for years

Other surprising gift ideas
A recreated memory. A framed print of the place where you met, or a photo book of a trip you took together.
An experience they would never book themselves. A cooking class, a hot air balloon ride or a night somewhere special.
A handwritten letter. Tucked inside another gift, it is often the part people keep the longest.
A gift for their pet. Thinking of their dog or cat at Christmas shows you know what matters to them.
Surprise them this Christmas
The best surprises are personal ones. If someone in your life adores their pet, a portrait is the gift that will make this Christmas morning memorable. Every portrait is made to order, so order early to make sure it arrives in time.
